Refresher Courses
Through its Morris Cody & Associates
Division, WFPA develops and
distributes pharmacy refresher courses
that assist candidates in their
preparations for pharmacy licensure
examinations. Since 1971, Morris Cody &
Associates (MCA) have worked with
thousands of pharmacists to prepare for
their pharmacy licensure examinations.
Presently, MCA operates three schools in
California. MCA conducts live Review
Courses prior to the Pharmacy License
Exams in Illinois, Florida, California,
Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Kansas
and Pennsylvania. Finally, MCAs
home-study programs are utilized by
candidates who are preparing for
licensure exams in all states, and also
by pharmacists who have been educated in
foreign pharmacy colleges, and are
preparing for US licensure exams. The
materials concentrate on both clinical,
pharmacy practice and jurisprudence
topics. MCA is licensed by the
California Department of Education as an
educational institution.
Seminars
WFPA
also presents "live," pharmacy CE
seminars in conjunction with selected
pharmaceutical manufacturers and
community pharmacy chains. Recent
programs include: Nutritional
Considerations for the Community
Pharmacist; The Pharmacist's Role in
Cessation of Smoking; Communication
Skills In Pharmacy; The Pharmacist and
Stress Management; Herbal Medicine & the
Pharmacist; and Continuous
Quality Commitment for Reducing
Prescription Errors.
Marketing
Beyond its CE emphasis, W-F Professional
Associates, Inc. also specializes in
marketing communications consulting. In
this capacity, the firm assists drug
store chains and pharmacy-related
companies on how to more effectively
communicate with pharmacists, consumers,
and staff members.
The company helps these groups define
their goals and then selects the best
vehicle for achieving them. The
finished product can be one or more of a
variety of marketing-related collateral
materials including: newsletters;
informational/ educational literature;
recruitment or benefit programs and
other promotional pieces.
Risk Management & Error Reporting
Programs
Presently, WFPA is marketing a
specialized Pharmacy Risk Management
Program that assists independent
pharmacies and chain pharmacies to
readily recognize the cause of most
prescription-related errors, and to
develop a simple system for decreasing
these. |
