The ServeRx® System from MDG Medical is an efficient, affordable and cost-effective medication management and control system for acute-care hospitals and long-term-care settings. ServeRx® is a secure computerized medication management system that reduces medication errors and seamlessly manages patient care from prescription through dispensing, administering and reporting.

The ServeRx® computerized mobile Smart Cart™ is the system's connection to the point of care. The mobile Smart Cart™ integrates a user-friendly touch screen and bar-code technology to significantly reduce human error and close the loop of safe medication administration.

The mobile Smart Cart™, which communicates with the Computerized Medication Cabinet, includes as many as 20 patient-specific drawers with LCD displays to show the patients' names, and a general drawer to store large bar-coded bulk items, such as patient-specific IV bags.

At the point of care, the nurse scans the patient's bar-coded wristband to verify patient identity. The mobile cart's touch screen clearly displays the patient's information and prescribing orders; simultaneously, the cart automatically opens the patient-specific drawer, enabling secure administration of the right medicine. All relevant information during administration is logged and recorded. The patient's vital signs can also be recorded and logged into the system at the point of care.
