PCAB Accreditation Fees Richie’s Specialty Pharmacy (RSP) will donate up to $5,000 towards Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB)- accreditation fees for any pharmacy wishing to undertake the process. The monies would have to be paid directly to PCAB and not to the pharmacy. This amount is anticipated to cover 1st year fees (plus travel fees for surveyor) for PCAB accreditation. As the demand for compounded medications has increased, the pharmaceutical profession strongly believed that a system of standards by which each compounding pharmacy could test its quality processes was required. Compounding pharmacists also wanted a mechanism to allow them to know that they are producing a high quality compound, and in doing so, providing the best quality to their patients. PCAB Accreditation provides patients, prescribers and payers with a way to select a pharmacy that meets or exceeds the United States Pharmacopeia’s (USP’s) high quality standards. www.pcab.org Value: $5,000 Many thanks to Richie’s Specialty Pharmacy. 19 B E N E F I T I N G T H E I A C P F O U N D A T I O N 1 0 T H A N N U A L R X M I X E R P R E S E N T S : SUNDAY, MAY 18, 2014 ~ 6:30PM – MIDNIGHT
