R X M I X E R – A PARTY WI TH A PURPOSE! 2 A Message from IACP Foundation’s President – Lisa Ashworth, BS Pharm, RPh Welcome to the 10th Annual Rx Mixer, The Roaring Twenties: The Compounding Age, benefiting the IACP Foundation! On behalf of the entire IACP Foundation Board and Rx Mixer Committee, thank you for your commitment, time and effort to support the only foundation established to benefit pharmacy compounding. As we gather again with our colleagues and friends, we want to emphasize that Rx Mixer is much more than a fun party. This event is one of the primary ways we have to fund a vitally important mission – to support the quality, integrity, and advancement of pharmacy compounding and its practitioners for the benefit of patients. Why should you contribute to the IACP Foundation? Very simply, you are helping to ensure the future of compounding…. The IACP Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational foundation and serves as the charitable extension of IACP with a mission to fund research and educational initiatives to advance the art and science of pharmacy compounding. Each year, the IACP Foundation’s activities include: n Funding innovative programs and research initiatives that enhance the quality, safety, responsiveness, and credibility of pharmacy compounding; n Encouraging curricular endorsement of the fundamental proficiencies essential to compounding pharmacists through alliances with educational institutions and accreditation bodies; and n Sponsoring public education programs that aspire to acquaint health care professionals and the public with the services and issues related to pharmacy compounding. This year’s total Rx Mixer fundraising goal is $190,000. We need your help to achieve this milestone! Your support and involvement is crucial in raising funds for the IACP Foundation so that we can continue the good works we started more than 10 years ago. Since 2005, the IACP Foundation has awarded more than $238,000 for studies researching compounded preparation potency and stability and outcomes of treatment with compounded medications. Rx Mixer has raised more than $1.5 million in gross revenue since 2003. Your generous contributions enable us to continue funding these projects. So, take a step back in time to a decade of excitement, decadence and excess. Dress in your 1920s outfits and join us at our speakeasy for dinner, dancing, cocktails, casino games and fabulous Live Auction, Treasure Boxes and Big Board.
