Latest Version Employs Leading-Edge Advancements in RFID Antenna Technology to Cut Scan Time on the Intelliguard® Kit and Tray Management System by 50%

MEPS Real-Time, Inc., a leading innovator of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions for pharmacy automation and inventory management, today announced the release of the Intelliguard® Kit and Tray Management System Version 4.0, the latest version of its solution offering improved performance and enhanced design and usability.

"Release 4.0 incorporates our most recent advancements in both antenna technologies and accompanying software. This latest release cuts more than 50% off the time it takes to accurately and reliably scan medication and supply inventory in the Intelliguard® Kit and Tray Management System. Quality Studies Confirm Intelliguard® Kit and Tray Management System Supports Both Error Elimination and Time Savings 
Quality Studies conducted across numerous hospital sites verify that when using the Intelliguard® Kit and Tray Management System, 100% of medication kits and trays are restocked without errors. Conversely, the Quality Study results show that when using traditional manual processes, 1 in every 3-5 trays is at risk of leaving the pharmacy with one or more errors (expired med, missing med, inventory overage, sound/look alike discrepancy or other variation from the expected formulary).

In addition to reduced scan time, the Intelliguard® Kit and Tray Management System Version 4.0 includes foundational improvements, improved data retrieval, specific customer-requested features and incremental changes to improve workflows. Notably:

• Upgrading the Medi-Span™ database to allow global, concurrent updating when new medications are made available from Medi-Span™ while still allowing individual customers to add custom medications
• Enabling expiring alerts pop-ups for enhanced visibility to soon-to-expire medications
• Improvements to the raw data export functionality on the Inventory Report
• Upgraded navigation to better support search results within "Help" screens
