Vitamin A is actually a general term given to a family of related
compounds. These compounds include Beta Carotene, retinol, retinal
and retinoic acid.
Beta Carotene, a pro-vitamin and anti-oxidant, is converted to Vitamin A.
Vitamin A is fat soluble. Excess intake can accumulate in fatty
tissues to toxic levels.
Avoid extra Vitamin A while taking isotretinoin products. (Accutane®)
Take Vitamin A in a 10-1 ratio (A to D) with Vitamin D.
Vitamin A is found naturally in fish liver oils, dark green and
yellow vegetables, liver and dairy products.
Vitamin A may be lost through alcohol consumption and dieting.
