Vitamin B-5 (Pantothenic Acid)

 
Some common functions:
Vitamin B-5, also known as pantothenic acid, helps create energy by breaking down carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Pantothenic acid aids in the synthesis of some amino-acids, the manufacture of bile, cholesterol, some hormones, red blood cells and the vitamins A and D.
Vitamin B-5 is used extensively in the body's metabolic process.
   

Additional counseling points:
Pantothenic acid is available commercially as calcium pantothenate.

Vitamin B-5 is water-soluble and is excreted in the urine.

Pantothenic acid is available in most foods of animal or plant origin.

Vitamin B-5 may be lost through dieting or alcohol consumption.
