22 Fall 2014 | IACPRx.org P3 GET INVOLVED! We now have more than 150,000 patients and practitioners who are advocates of pharmacy compounding! And your efforts to support and educate on the value of personalized medications have been invaluable! For years, we have called ourselves Patients and Professionals for Customized Care or P2C2. We are so proud of our association’s rich heritage of advocacy that began more than 20 years ago with the IACP launch of this important and necessary advocacy effort. Recently, IACP rebranded P2C2 to Partnership for Personalized Prescriptions or P3. P3 is an advocacy society that brings together pharmacists as well as patients and practitioners who share a passion for compounding and are concerned about changes in prescription reimbursement programs that are increasingly threatening patient access to customized medicines. We’ve launched a new website and social media channels on Facebook and Twitter, which provide a forum for patients and practitioners to voice their support for compounding pharmacy or learn more about its important role in health care. “With the creation of the Partnership for Personalized Prescriptions, we are expanding our original advocacy efforts and sharpening our tools to provide a strong platform to help raise compounding awareness as well as to restore the outstanding reputation of our profession,” said Pat Stephens, PharmD, IACP President. “We encourage patients, practitioners and pharmacists to join our effort to ensure continued access to personalized medicines.” How Can You Help P3? 1. Tell Your Everyone! Encourage your colleagues, friends and family to join P3 by visiting and registering at PrescriptionPartnership.com. 2. Encourage Stories! Engage your patients to share how your pharmacy compounding helped them. Personal testimonials can be shared on our P3 website. 3. Engage Your Marketers! Have your marketers spread the word about P3 to the prescribers they meet with. 4. Like Us on Facebook and Twitter! Visit our Facebook and Twitter pages. Share updates, and encourage everyone to do the same. 5. Provide editorial ideas for Custom Care Times – our P3 advocacy newsletter. We want to hear from you! What you want to read about – and welcome your personal compounding testimonials and other news. Email us at p3info@iacprx.org. 6. Get involved! There are many issues facing pharmacy compounding on which we’ll need your help in the future. Stay tuned for P3 action alerts, and be ready to make your voices heard when we ask for your help!
