Pharmacy Pediatric Immunization Certification Available

Company Background

Offering Exemplary Provider recognition for over 25 years

The Compliance Team, Inc. (TCT) was founded in 1994 and is the first woman-owned and nurse-led nationally recognized healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation process simplification (reform) and patient-centric standards are fundamental to all our programs — and what truly makes us unique. We firmly believe that it should not be difficult or costly for providers to consistently demonstrate patient care delivery excellence. Exemplary Provider® recognition is available only through The Compliance Team’s accreditation and certification programs. Accreditation programs include: Medicare-approved Part A — Patient-Centered Medical Home, Rural Health Clinic, and Home Infusion Therapy (HIT), as well as all Part B — Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, Supplies (DMEPOS) providers. We also offer a complete suite of pharmacy services accreditation programs covering: community and long-term care pharmacy, DMEPOS, infusion, sterile and non-sterile compounding (USP chapters 795, 797, and 800), in-store clinic, mail order, telepharmacy, and value-based PatientCentered Pharmacy Home™. Our certification programs currently include Point-of-Care Testing Certification and Immunization Certification.

Building Trust Via Certified Quality and Safety

Most likely, you have been offering adult immunizations for many years. However, under new guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), you can now offer immunizations for children over the age of three. You will want to let parents know that your immunization services are every bit as safe as when they visit their pediatricians. How do you do that? The Compliance Team’s exclusive Immunization Certification program certifies your facility by covering a wide range of topics that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Proper patient vaccination history

• Proper administration

• Safe vaccine storage and handling

• Safe sharps handling and disposal

• Infection control

• Special populations (i.e. pregnant, immunosuppressed, pediatrics, etc.)

• Awareness of anaphylaxis/adverse events after vaccination (VAERS)

• Registries

• Communication about appointments for subsequent doses

• Vaccine Information Sheet (VIS)

• Appropriate staff education Certification differs from accreditation in that, with certification we focus only on the immunization piece of your business — the processes, staff education, and the physical space. You do not need to be accredited with TCT for any other service. Immunization Certification is a stand-alone program, valid for two years and only available through TCT

Certification Programs — New in 2020

In early 2020, we introduced our first certification program, Pointof-Care Testing Certification for facilities, as the first in a series of certification programs. Point-of-Care Testing Certification focuses on all processes that relate to CLIA-waived testing operations, including COVID-19, flu, etc. This certification is valid for two years. This is also only available through TCT. Our certification series standards are based on many of the standards inherent in our accreditation programs, so you can be confident that our programs are comprehensive. And we always focus on what matters most to the patient, Safety — Honesty — Caring®.

Testimonial

“The Pharmacy Testing Certification Program has helped our pharmacists feel more confident in delivering the service to patients by preparing us with necessary training, information, and steps to take to stay in compliance. It was wonderful working with Lesa, who helped us expedite the process with thorough instructions and a convenient approach during this Covid time.” — Tram Vu, General Operations Manager, MTM Pharmacy (three locations in California)
