Clyde Dearman, PharmD, BCACP, was named the 2018 Non-Faculty Preceptor of the Year at the White Coat Ceremony, May 11, 2018. Dr. Dearman serves as the Director of Pharmacy and Health Risk Management at Vantage Health Plan, Inc. in Monroe, LA. and has served as a ULM College of Pharmacy preceptor in medication therapy management since 2016.

Dr. Dearman graduated with a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy in 1988 and with a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 2009. He holds certifications in diabetes, asthma, tobacco cessation, respiratory care, immunization administration, medication therapy management, and ambulatory care.

He is passionate about training future pharmacists, and strives to provide a great experience where students can gain knowledge and skills of a pharmacy world that exists beyond the traditional retail and hospital pharmacy role.

“Dr. Dearman is one of the greatest, most approachable preceptors – and human beings – ever!” commented one of his students. “I can talk to him about anything. He’s extremely knowledgeable in his profession. I’d love to be like him one day, and he gladly accepted me as a mentee. Can’t express how great of a person/pharmacist he is.”

Congratulations Clyde!
