Congratulations APPE Preceptor of the Year, Roger Nutt!
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy is proud to name Roger Nutt “Preceptor of the Year” for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Roger has had a huge impact on the future of our students. Not only does he go above and beyond as a preceptor and teacher, he genuinely enjoys being a part of it all. Not to mention the students think so much of him as they voted for him to win our Preceptor of the Year award for 2017. Roger also volunteers his time for the experiential’s High Honors Award Program.
Roger has served as a preceptor since the initiation of
the program for fourth year students. He says he has
always enjoyed this aspect of his job, taking pride in
teaching the next generation of pharmacists. The way
he sees it, he learns just as much from the students as
they learn from him. He is able to bestow knowledge
from years of experience in the management of
community and hospital pharmacy and the students
keep him on his toes in all the new medications
coming down the pipeline and the ever changing practices of pharmacy. Teaching
the pharmacists of tomorrow is not a responsibility that Roger takes lightly and this
is made obvious by his passion and dedication to precepting!
