CriticalPoint courses linked directly from Pestle assignments help pharmacy teams organize training and maintain completion documentation
Pestle, a pharmacy compliance and compounding workflow software, today announced a partnership with CriticalPoint by TRC Healthcare to connect compounding education with the training and compliance activities pharmacies manage in Pestle. Through the partnership, Pestle clients can purchase CriticalPoint education programs and access relevant courses directly from their Pestle training assignments.
The partnership brings together CriticalPoint’s compounding education and Pestle’s tools for scheduling training, managing employee competencies, and maintaining supporting records. It gives pharmacy leaders a practical way to incorporate education aligned with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> into onboarding and ongoing staff development.
CriticalPoint courses are available in Pestle as ready-to-use assignments. Administrators can assign training based on an employee’s role and responsibilities, establish due dates, and maintain completion documentation alongside other employee records. Each assignment directs the learner to the appropriate course in CriticalPoint, where the education is completed. Learners then return to Pestle to document completion according to their organization’s process.
“Pharmacy teams need a clear connection between the training they assign and the records they maintain,” said Mario Rosado, VP of Operations & Compliance at Pestle. “This partnership makes it easier to connect CriticalPoint’s compounding education with the compliance work our clients already manage in Pestle, supporting staff development and inspection readiness.”
CriticalPoint has served more than 2,400 sites and 60,000 participants. Its curriculum covers sterile and nonsterile compounding, hazardous drug handling, pharmacy math, and 503B compounding. Available ACPE-accredited programs include:
- Sterile Compounding & Hazardous Drugs — 34.5 CE hours
- Nonsterile Compounding — 11 CE hours
- Hazardous Drugs — 5 CE hours
- Pharmacy Math Skills — 8 CE hours
- 503B Compounding — 7 Law CE hours
The programs are developed and updated by compounding practitioners and educators. CriticalPoint also offers competency assessment resources, forms, templates, and other supporting materials that pharmacies can incorporate into their training programs. Its CE/CME Organizer helps users manage course completions and license requirements.
“We’re glad to partner with Pestle in supporting the pharmacy teams who do this work,” said Dr. Tina Moen, Chief Pharmacy Officer at TRC Healthcare. “In compounding, training has a direct line to patient safety. Connecting Pestle users with CriticalPoint education makes it easier for learners to get the training they need to build and maintain their skills.”
By connecting access to this education with Pestle’s assignments and documentation tools, the partnership helps pharmacies organize staff training within their broader compliance program. Pharmacy leaders can use education and supporting resources to reinforce safe compounding practices while maintaining records of training activities and other USP documentation all in one place.
Pharmacies interested in a single CriticalPoint program or the full library can submit their information via the form at https://info.trchealthcare.com/criticalpoint-pestle-partnership. A CriticalPoint representative will follow up to discuss program options.
