For the past several months, EMS leadership has been operating in reactive mode on the PPAEMA Final Rule — registering, restructuring, retraining, scrambling to close obvious gaps before the next inspection cycle.
The rule is now in effect. The conversation needs to shift. Reactive mode is not a sustainable operational posture for a multi-year regulatory regime. The agencies that will look back on this period favorably are the ones that move — deliberately and on a schedule — from reactive to proactive.
