A caregiver – I won’t use their name, because the story isn’t about them, it’s about what they were holding in their hand, wrote to tell me about a Silent Knight crusher that had been sitting on their kitchen counter since 1999 or 2000. It came from a nursing home that had purchased it for a disabled veteran, a young man who had been placed in long-term care at twenty-six.
