CPS Telepharmacy’s New Innovation Center Built to Meet Growing Technology Demand

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) announced today that it has enhanced and expanded its telepharmacy division to meet the evolving and future needs of hospitals, health systems and retail pharmacies. To support their industry-leading growth and expanded set of services, CPS has relocated its National Telepharmacy Center to a larger footprint in Naperville, Illinois. CPS Telepharmacy will be hiring additional professional level pharmacists and support staff at the new facility.

As healthcare shifts from an inpatient to an outpatient service model and specialty medications trend toward eclipsing traditional drugs, the larger Telepharmacy facility is positioned to help clients meet the growing demand for telepharmacy services and provide patients with direct access to pharmacists through advancing technologies. CPS Telepharmacy monitors 3 million medication events a year. The pharmacists, using proprietary technology in conjunction with the hospitals electronic health record (EHR), flag wrong dose or wrong drug and provide real-time data on patients, resulting in fewer adverse drug events, readmissions and emergency room visits.  CPS Telepharmacy functions as a seamless extension of the client’s pharmacy staff, adapting to the specific needs of each facility.
