An entirely Fluoride and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate-Free Product Line
When we set out to create our new CBD Dental Products, we knew that the formulation was much more than adding CBD. We wanted to ensure that these products would stand out not just because of what was in them…but what wasn’t. Having a company staffed and powered by dental professionals complimented by a compound pharmacist gave us a unique brain trust to address the formulation in unique and beneficial ways. So, we analyzed the existing products on the market, developed an all-natural base and eliminated a couple “standard” inclusions in dental products.
Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS)
You may have never heard of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a chemical ingredient common in many soaps, detergents and interestingly enough, most toothpastes. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) acts as a binding agent in these toothpastes, but also has the added effect of making the toothpaste FOAM UP while you’re brushing. The foam likely adds little to the process of cleaning your teeth, gums or oral cavity, but it tends to make people think the paste is working. Because SLS is a cheap ingredient, it’s an easy way for toothpaste manufacturers to increase the consumer’s perception that their toothpaste is a good product.
Certainly, for the vast majority of dental patients and the public-at-large, SLS is not a cause for concern, but for those for who it is, eliminating it from the formulations made an immense amount of sense.
