Clinical Pharmacy Manager – Full Time

Schedule: This position will work at least 40 hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday daytime hours.
As a full time, exempt, Pharmacy Manager with CPS® at Pikeville Medical Center, you will serve as the leader of clinical pharmacy programs and services, develop a strong clinical team in a progressive healthcare environment and hospital which serves as a teaching facility. Responsibilities Include: developing and maintenance of a drug policy to support optimal pharmaceutical care and promotes optimal cost effectiveness for all patients; assess, develop, coordinate, implement, and maintenance of clinically relevant tools to support clinical programs and services; aid the Director of Pharmacy in maintaining the pharmacy and an annual clinical plan with the Regional Director of Clinical Service. Clinical services include an antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation program, and general clinical pharmacy services that include patient dosing and monitoring. Clinical services support the Oncology, Critical Care, and Infectious Disease departments.
About the Facility: At 340 beds, Pikeville Medical Center is the largest hospital in southeastern Kentucky and is accredited by The Joint Commission. The medical center offers services including cardiac care, medical, surgical, pediatric, neonatal intensive care, rehabilitation, oncology, neurology, pain and wound care, a level 2 trauma center and home care services. There are future plans to expand services in Pediatrics, NICU and Emergency Services.
About the Pharmacy: The central pharmacy is open 24 hours, 7 days per week and offers decentralized clinical services. Pharmacy automation includes EPIC (changing from Open Vista), Pyxis, Swisslog and automated cart fill. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.
Required Qualifications:
• PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Current Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
• 5+ recent years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting
• Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred
• Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff.
