Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Full Time

As a full time, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Clinical Staff Pharmacist, at the Montana State Hospital, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. Be a part of a clinical team that provides clinical services to the hospital that includes Metabolic Syndrome Clinic, Admission and Discharge Medication Reconciliation, COPD/Asthma Consultations, Diabetic Education, INR monitoring, Therapeutic Consults, Pain Management as well as being part of hospital treatment team.
Schedule: This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday thru Friday 7am to 9pm, rotating shifts, weekends Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm and Holidays from 8am-6pm rotating shifts, on-call as needed.
About the Facility: The Montana State Hospital provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults with serious mental illness. The facility includes 174 licensed hospital beds; 42 adult group home beds; and a 54 bed forensic unit for a total of 270 beds. The hospital pharmacy provides centralized support to all of these facilities plus other state facilities which includes the Montana Chemical Dependency Center and Intensive Behavior Center. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.
About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy uses QS/1 Prime Care to process physician orders, billing medication, generating reports, and processing third party and Medicare/Medicaid contracts. Cart fills and unit dose packaging are processed through Omnicell. The pharmacy is open 7:00am-9:00am, Monday through Friday; 9:00am-5:30pm, Saturday and Sunday; and all holidays with 24-hour on call.
Required Qualifications:
• Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
• Current Pharmacist license in good standing in Montana
• Experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital setting preferred
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
• Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
• Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
• Effective communications skills; verbal and written
Hospital Requirements: (may be required)
• (PPD) TB Skin Test – Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
• (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
• Varicella – (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
• Hep B3 Series (or declination)
• (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
• COVID Vaccine-Full (required)
