Pharmacy Technician Series. Demystifying the Mist: Inhalers for Chronic Respiratory Conditions
Pharmacy technicians commonly fill prescriptions for inhalers but rarely understand the different types of medications contained in them. Better understanding this can aid patients and the pharmacist in ensuring the medication is being used appropriately by patients.
The overall goal of this activity is to increase technician competency about inhalers: the medications they contain and how to properly use them. Ultimately, this will benefit patients by improving adherence and safety of use in asthma and COPD. The activity will help technicians better communicate with pharmacists about these medications.
