Robert Smith
2016 APPE Preceptor of the Year
Wingate University School of Pharmacy is proud to recognize Robert Smith as our student-selected 2016 APPE Preceptor of the Year. Dr. Smith serves as the Director of Clinical Services for Neil Medical Group in Mooresville, NC, and has served as a dedicated WUSOP preceptor for the last 3 years. Dr. Smith holds both the Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP) credentials. He is recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (FASCP). He has also been honored with the Omnicare Clinical Manager’s Award. Students praised Dr. Smith for his extensive knowledge base and detailed approach to precepting. When describing the rotation experience with Dr. Smith, the following comment was written by a student.
“ This has probably been the most challenging and rewarding rotation I have had thus far. Robert is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and courteous; a role model in the field. Conversations with Robert one-on-one helped me to gain a better understanding of the field, his professional experience, and thought processes for therapeutic decisions regarding patients.”
