Subject matter experts will address hospital pharmacy issues concerning patients with COVID-19
Visante Inc. announces it will host a webinar on Thursday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m. ET titled, “Insight from the heartland: Nebraska’s disaster/pandemic pharmacy team provides guidance for preparation and treatment of COVID19 patients.” The Nebraska Medical Center-Nebraska Medicine disaster/pandemic pharmacy team will discuss their approach, preparedness for disasters/pandemics, JIT FMEAs, and learnings from the critical care team.
The Nebraska Medical Center-Nebraska Medicine disaster/pandemic pharmacy team has experience working with patients diagnosed with COVID19 and Ebola. Nebraska Medicine has led the world in treatment, training and quarantine methods for highly infectious diseases since caring for patients during the 2014 Ebola outbreak. Nebraska Medicine was among the first to treat U.S. patients for COVID19 when those patients were evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in February 2020. The Nebraska Medical Center’s National Quarantine Unit and Biocontainment Unit are specially designed to ensure the novel coronavirus will not escape through ventilation shafts to other rooms in the building.
