Kerrin Bass, Quality Assurance Supervisor – Interview with Unit Dose Solutions
What led you to UDS and how long have you been here?
I’ve always been interested in being in the pharmaceutical industry and after spending over 10 years in a retail pharmacy setting, I was exploring something new, different, and challenging. The position opened at UDS and I’ve been here for over 5 & 1/2 years and love it!
What has surprised you most about your time here at UDS?
I was certainly surprised at the overall variability of the work. From small to large facilities that we service, we find ourselves performing Quality Control on very small, boutique-type orders to very large orders that may take days to complete.
What do you tell folks, that aren’t in the business, that you do at UDS?
I remind people that the medicines you see every day at retail pharmacy are very different in a hospital setting. The team I supervise ensures that all orders are accurate to what our customers ordered. Ultimately, patients receive these meds and I want to ensure they get what is ordered.
What are your interests outside of UDS?
I love to try new restaurants, exploring farmer’s & flea markets, traveling and mostly spending time with family and friends!
What makes UDS special?
The ability to learn new things and work in a challenging environment as well as knowing the company I work for provides a service that truly cares about patient safety.
