This October 19 – 23, Agilum is proud to partner with HIMSS in Health Equity Week: a global action week focused on displaying the potential of health information and technology to transform health and minimize health disparities.

As part of supporting healthy communities, HIMSS is highlighting the importance of:
• Addressing maternal health disparities
• Improved patient identification and safety
• Public health data modernization
• Expansion of telehealth

Initiated in 2006 by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), National Health IT Week has emerged as a landmark occasion for using health IT as part of the overall solution to improve America’s healthcare as a bipartisan, federally led, market-driven initiative.

In 2019, building upon the efforts of Women in Health IT, and the African-American and Latinx Special Interest Groups, HIMSS and its partners launched the HIMSS Global Health Equity Network to accelerate diversity and inclusion to improve healthcare access and delivery, create an inclusive workforce, decrease disparities in underrepresented groups and advocate for true health equity for all. Health Equity Week ignites the work of the network that will be ongoing.
