Clinical Oncology Pharmacist - Full-Time

CPS has an excellent Opportunity for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to collaborate and partner with the E.C. Green Cancer Center Oncology team at Jennie Stuart Health in Kentucky and be part of a brand-new Oncology Center that is opening in the summer of 2023. Description: As a full-time, nonexempt, CPS® Clinical Oncology Pharmacist at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, 75% of your time will entail working with the oncology physicians and nurses in the E.C. Green Cancer Center to create evidence-based chemotherapy treatment plans and provide quality outpatient oncology services and care. Your duties include verifying & entering orders, reviewing & checking orders for appropriate dosing based on patient's chemo regimen or medical condition, label chemo preparations received from 3rd party compounding company and supervise technicians compounding hazardous preparations, double verification of doses with oncology nurses or oncologist, verify documentation and charging of medications administered in the clinic and update the Director about the daily activities of the outpatient infusion center. The other 25% of your time, you will work in the inpatient pharmacy to fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. This position reports to the inpatient Director of Pharmacy.
Schedule: This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday day shift; there are no scheduled weekends or holidays.
About the Facility: Jennie Stuart Health is a not-for-profit, acute-care community hospital licensed for 194 beds and has been serving patients of Christian, Trigg and Todd counties for over 100 years. There are plans to build a new Oncology Center to be completed in July 2023. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.
Required Qualifications:
- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
- Current Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing
- Successful completion of a PGY1 / PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency program
- 3+ years of experience working with an Oncology Program
- Board Certification in Oncology or willingness to become Board Certified in Oncology
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
