The Fall 2022 Seminar course for the M.S. in Health Services Administration program met on the University of Wyoming campus in October. The topic for this semester was: "Healthcare Teams: Collaboration, Innovation, and Strategy for healthy teams." Dr. Elliott Sogol and Eric Schlidt, WTBC Director, IMPACT 307, lead students in critical thinking on topics and related areas. Eric is a 2018 graduate of the MSHSA program with a specialty track in Health Institution Leadership. He formerly held the role of Associate Director for the program and continues to be an asset to operations and development. The seminar has been hosted on Zoom over the past few semesters, this was the first hybrid option to create collaboration between virtual attendees and in-person attendees. Individuals traveled from across the nation, from Texas and Seattle to several being local to Laramie. Our students come from various educational and professional backgrounds. This diversity aided in conversations and allowed our students to learn from each other. Students gained the opportunity to collaborate in groups and discuss ideas related to personal experiences and healthcare issues. The groups worked toward outcomes to share with the class and discuss topics as a cohesive group. Here are some of the things students said about this fall's seminar:
"I really enjoyed hearing other perspectives from folks that aren't in the same field as me."
"Loved it, made sharing thoughts and ideas fluid and efficient."
We are looking forward to the spring semester seminar scheduled for February 2023.
