Utilizing the ISSA Workloading Basic Principles below, a time and motion study was conducted onsite at Siena College’s Roger Bacon Hall for Science to define production rates and efficiencies over a period of time using the prescribed tasks and tools.
ISSA Consulting has conducted a comprehensive time study assessment and efficacy analysis of Perfex mop systems, focusing on three distinct mop heads used in conjunction with a standardized three-bucket system. This study aims to evaluate the performance and production rates of each mop head, providing valuable insights into their effectiveness in various cleaning scenarios. By systematically measuring and comparing the time and effort required for each mop head to complete standardized tasks, this analysis seeks to inform best practices and enhance overall operational efficiency in the cleaning process.
The ISSA Consulting team employed the advanced TruCLEAN Pro Triple Bucket System from Perfex to conduct their meticulous product testing. This innovative system, designed to enhance hygiene and efficiency, consists of three separate compartments: solution bucket, a rinse bucket, and a waste bucket. By utilizing this configuration, the system effectively prevents cross-contamination and ensures a consistent supply of clean water, or solution, for mopping. During the study, ISSA used this three-bucket system to test the performance of three different mop heads, meticulously measuring the time and effort required for each mop head to complete various cleaning tasks. This methodical approach allowed for a precise comparison of the mop heads' efficacy, providing valuable insights into their suitability for diverse cleaning environments.
TruCLEAN Sponge Mop
Among the mop heads tested in the ISSA Consulting study was the TruCLEAN Sponge Mop from Perfex. This high-performance mop head, designed for optimal absorbency and durability, features a premium sponge that effectively captures dirt and debris while providing a streak-free finish. By integrating the TruCLEAN Sponge Mop into their rigorous time study assessment, ISSA Consulting evaluated its efficiency and efficacy within the standardized three-bucket system. The analysis provided critical insights into the sponge mop's performance, highlighting its potential to enhance cleaning productivity in various commercial settings.
EQUIPMENT OBSERVATIONS AND DATA POINTS
The sponge mop excelled in many critical performance metrics during the ISSA Consulting study with the TruCLEAN Pro Triple-Bucket system. It achieved an impressive 86% reduction in ATP readings, indicating superior removal of contaminants and exceptional cleaning efficacy. The Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) readings showed an average improvement of almost 18%, enhancing floor safety by increasing slip resistance. Additionally, the gloss meter readings improved by an average of 50%, demonstrating the sponge mop's ability to significantly enhance the shine and visual appeal of the cleaned surfaces. These results highlight the sponge mop's strong performance in maintaining hygiene, safety, and aesthetics.
SUMMARY
Perfex's sponge mop demonstrated exceptional performance across all floor types in the ISSA Consulting study, showcasing significant improvements in several key metrics: ATP readings, gloss, and Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) measurements. The sponge mop excelled at removing smaller contaminants from the floor, contributing to noticeably cleaner surfaces. Its effectiveness in elevating gloss levels and enhancing floor safety, as indicated by DCOF measurements, highlights its comprehensive cleaning capabilities. The wringer system was particularly well-suited to the sponge mop head, providing a tight fit that ensured consistent wringing and application of the cleaning solution. This compatibility allowed for a uniform cleaning process, contributing to the overall efficacy of the mop.
