Amanda Eccleston 2017 IPPE Preceptor of the Year!
Wingate University School of Pharmacy is proud to recognize Dr. Amanda Eccleston as our student selected 2017 IPPE Preceptor of the Year. Dr. Eccleston serves as the pharmacy manager at Publix Pharmacy in Mint Hill, NC and has precepted WUSOP students for eight years. Nominated for this award several times, she is highly regarded for her ability to challenge students to apply what they are learning in class to the rotation experience. She is intentional about tailoring the rotation to students’ previous experience, and she also serves as a role model through her leadership and service in the community. When describing her rotation experience with Dr. Eccleston, one student recently wrote these kind words:
“
During my IPPE experience, I learned a lot from Dr. Eccleston. She taught me how
to be an outstanding and compassionate pharmacist. She taught me how to empathize
with patients and how to build the patient-pharmacist relationship. She was always
there to answer any questions I had. She went beyond the expectations of her role as
a preceptor.”
