If you are interested in practicing pharmacy in a state other than the one in which you were licensed, or if you are thinking of expanding your pharmacy across a state line, you’ll need to transfer your existing license. Each state board of pharmacy has its own set of requirements that you must meet before the board will issue you a new license to practice pharmacy.
The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) Electronic Licensure Transfer Program (e-LTPTM) helps licensed pharmacists to more easily transfer their existing license to one or more states or jurisdictions. NABP facilitates the licensure transfer process on behalf of its member boards of pharmacy, who ultimately make the licensure decision. As part of this process, your existing license(s) undergoes a background check and is screened through the NABP Clearinghouse. The board of pharmacy in the jurisdiction(s) where you are applying for transfer makes the final decision regarding licensing.
About NABP
