Overview: This activity is designed to familiarize pharmacy technicians with commonly prescribed antidepressant medications that they may encounter on a daily basis. This includes a general understanding of how the medication works and common side effects. The activity will include a brief description of technician roles in helping patients with depression (e.g. A technician notices that a patient taking a SSRI has picked up over the counter St. John's Wort and proceeds to inform the pharmacist, since they cannot counsel the patient on drug interactions.)
