GOAL
To improve the competence of pharmacists in identifying and collaborating with patients with primary headache disorder to select over-the-counter (OTC) products or, when appropriate, seek medical evaluation.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
1. Define patients with common primary headache disorders such as migraine or tension-type headache who qualify for self-management
2. Review the difference of episodic versus chronic headache
3. Review recommendations of over-the-counter analgesics for acute treatment of common primary headache disorders based on the patient’s needs and characteristics
