The goal of this activity is to educate pharmacists on a variety of pain management and opioid analgesic topics in a practical, relatable way that is aligned with the Opioid Analgesic REMS educational goals.
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
1. Review the mechanism of action, dosing, and administration of various nonopioid analgesics.
2. Discuss contraindications, warnings, and precautions for nonopioid analgesics.
3. Explain significant adverse effects and drug interactions involving the nonopioid analgesics.
4. Examine the role of nonopioid analgesics in optimal pain management.
