GOAL
To review the properties, epidemiology, and treatment of coronaviruses and their infections in people, with emphasis on the novel 2019 coronavirus.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
1. Describe the prevalence and severity of diseases caused by human coronaviruses
2. List symptoms and related pathophysiologic mechanisms of disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19)
3. Name public health strategies used for preventing and/or minimizing the number of people with and severity of COVID-19
4. Identify antiviral agents with potential effectiveness in patients with COVID-19
