Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to once again offer our scholarship program for pharmacy students.
The Pharmacists Mutual Community Pharmacy Scholarship program supports a core belief of Pharmacists Mutual that independent community pharmacies and pharmacy services in underserved communities are critically important to the nation’s healthcare system and to the pharmacy profession.
To be eligible, current students must be a P3 or a P4 in the 2021-2022 academic year and plan to practice in one of the following settings:
-an independent or small chain community pharmacy.
-an underserved geographic or cultural community, preferably in an independent or small chain community pharmacy.
Interested students must submit an electronic application, college transcript, letter of recommendation from a faculty member or advisor, and an essay describing their interest in practicing in an independent or small chain community setting, or in an underserved community. Their essay should describe steps they have taken to prepare themselves for their chosen practice setting and their practice goals after graduation. To apply, students should complete the scholarship application and submit the required documents via https://www.phmic.com/scholarship/. The application window will open on October 1, 2020, and the deadline is December 1, 2020.
A Pharmacists Mutual panel will review the scholarship applications to select the recipients. Up to twenty scholarships nationwide will be awarded. Each recipient will receive $2,500. If a scholarship is awarded to a student from your school, we will notify you and the student in March 2021.
We are excited to continue our scholarship program and hope that you will encourage your students to apply. Please contact our office at Scholarships@phmic.com if you have any questions pertaining to this program.
Sincerely,
