GOAL
The goal of this activity is to educate pharmacists about the pharmacologic treatment of elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides based on updated guideline recommendations and recent clinical trial evidence so that pharmacists can effectively collaborate with patients and prescribers to improve patients’ lipid and cardiovascular outcomes.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:
- Summarize the safety, tolerability, and cardiovascular benefits of medications approved to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides
- Review recommendations for lipid-lowering therapy for reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides based on updated guidelines and recent clinical trial evidence
- Identify how to collaborate with patients and prescribers to optimize lipid-lowering therapy
