The NuAire AireGard™ NU-140 is designed to generate HEPA-filtered vertical laminar airflow to achieve ISO Class 5 air cleanliness, making it suitable for sterile, non-hazardous drug compounding, microbiology, and research laboratory applications. The system employs a DC ECM motor that draws air through a pre-filter and then channels it through a HEPA filter, ensuring that the work zone maintains a controlled, clean environment. The work area is constructed with stainless steel walls and a work surface made of stainless steel with a PVC core, contributing to both the durability and cleanability of the unit.
Performance is continuously monitored through the integrated Aeromax™ control system, which displays the internal airflow plenum pressure in real time. This monitoring capability allows operators to assess performance consistently. Standard features include cord pass-throughs and fluorescent lighting, which provide basic functionality for most lab setups. The system is designed with flexibility in mind, as it can be optionally configured with polycarbonate walls, an IV bar, LED lighting, electrical outlets, service valves, and even a UV light and sliding window, to accommodate specific workflow requirements in different environments.
Additional design features further enhance the unit’s functionality and ease of use. The system’s configuration supports both straightforward installation and reliable operation over long periods. Its various optional enhancements allow facilities to tailor the isolator to support additional workflow elements, ensuring that the solution meets a broad range of practical applications in pharmacy and laboratory settings.
