The University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy congratulates Dr. Christopher Alvarado, PharmD, recipient of the Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA) 2015 Pharmacist of the Year Award. This award recognizes a pharmacist who has made outstanding contributions to the Texas Pharmacy Association and its mission during the past year. Dr. Alvarado currently serves on the Board of Directors of TPA and the West Texas Pharmacy Association. He is Immediate Past Chair for the TPA Political Action Committee.

Dr. Christopher Alvarado attended the University of the Incarnate Word – Feik School of Pharmacy where he received his PharmD in the Inaugural Class of 2010. Dr. Alvarado has been a preceptor of pharmacy interns for the past five years at Oakdell Pharmacy in San Antonio; he is manager of the Quarry location. Dr. Alvarado received the Oakdell Pharmacy “O” Award in 2012 and 2015, which signifies loyalty, leadership, and excellence in management. In addition, Dr. Alvarado was the recipient of the Texas Pharmacy Association 2013 Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award, as well as, the University of the Incarnate Word, Feik School of Pharmacy 2013 APPE Preceptor of the Year Award. He is actively involved in many pharmacy organizations. He has a passion for protecting the pharmacy profession, patient care, and teaching students. He has mentored many students and it truly touches his heart to positively affect so many lives. Dr. Alvarado has a very unique gift of connecting with his patients and students, which develops into lifelong relationships.
