Utilizing the ISSA Workloading Basic Principles below, a time and motion study was conducted onsite at Siena College’s Roger Bacon Hall for Science to define production rates and efficiencies over a period of time using the prescribed tasks and tools.
ISSA Consulting has conducted a comprehensive time study assessment and efficacy analysis of Perfex mop systems, focusing on three distinct mop heads used in conjunction with a standardized three-bucket system. This study aims to evaluate the performance and production rates of each mop head, providing valuable insights into their effectiveness in various cleaning scenarios. By systematically measuring and comparing the time and effort required for each mop head to complete standardized tasks, this analysis seeks to inform best practices and enhance overall operational efficiency in the cleaning process.
The ISSA Consulting team employed the advanced TruCLEAN Pro Triple Bucket System from Perfex to conduct their meticulous product testing. This innovative system, designed to enhance hygiene and efficiency, consists of three separate compartments: solution bucket, a rinse bucket, and a waste bucket. By utilizing this configuration, the system effectively prevents cross-contamination and ensures a consistent supply of clean water, or solution, for mopping. During the study, ISSA used this three-bucket system to test the performance of three different mop heads, meticulously measuring the time and effort required for each mop head to complete various cleaning tasks. This methodical approach allowed for a precise comparison of the mop heads' efficacy, providing valuable insights into their suitability for diverse cleaning environments.
TruCLEAN Cleanroom Yarn Mop
The ISSA Consulting study also incorporated the Cleanroom Yarn Mop from Perfex into its comprehensive evaluation. Specifically engineered for controlled environments, the Cleanroom Yarn Mop is designed to minimize contamination with its non-shedding, highly absorbent materials. In the context of the three-bucket system, ISSA Consulting rigorously tested the Cleanroom Yarn Mop's performance, focusing on its ability to maintain stringent cleanliness standards while optimizing cleaning efficiency. The analysis provided insightful data on the Cleanroom Yarn Mop's efficacy, demonstrating its capability to uphold the rigorous demands of cleanroom maintenance and other sensitive environments.
EQUIPMENT OBSERVATIONS AND DATA POINTS
The yarn mop demonstrated exceptional performance when paired with the TruCLEAN Pro Triple Bucket System during the ISSA Consulting study. This combination resulted in impressive cleaning productivity, averaging 4,783 square feet per hour. The synergy between the highly absorbent yarn mop and the efficient three-bucket system allowed for optimal solution management and minimal downtime for rinsing and wringing. This high level of productivity underscores the effectiveness of the yarn mop in maintaining large areas quickly and efficiently, making it an excellent choice for commercial cleaning operations.
Time till saturated estimated the amount of time, based on productivity rates and soil loads, that it would take until remnant soil saturated the mophead. The yarn mop had the highest time for replacement review because of its fringe strings that acted similarly to a dust mop as it was used.
In addition to its impressive cleaning productivity, the yarn mop achieved remarkable results in the ISSA Consulting study when used with the TruCLEAN Pro Triple Bucket system. The yarn mop averaged an 85% reduction in ATP level readings after cleaning, indicating a significant decrease in surface contaminants and enhancing overall hygiene. Furthermore, there was a notable improvement in the floor's slip resistance, with a 27% increase in the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF) readings, contributing to safer walking conditions. Additionally, the gloss readings of the cleaned surfaces increased by 48%, highlighting the mop's ability to enhance the aesthetic appeal and shine of the floors. These metrics demonstrate the yarn mop's effectiveness in improving cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
SUMMARY
In the ISSA Consulting study the Cleanroom Yarn Mop demonstrated exceptional cleaning capabilities and durability over extended use. Its robust construction allowed it to effectively capture and remove dirt and debris, maintaining high cleaning performance throughout prolonged cleaning sessions. Complementing the yarn mop's efficacy, the wringer system of the TruCLEAN Pro Triple Bucket system played a crucial role in maintaining its cleanliness and functionality. The wringer efficiently cleaned soiled mop heads, ensuring they remained effective for continuous use, while also allowing precise control over the amount of solution applied to the floor. This combination of a durable yarn mop and an efficient wringer system significantly enhanced the overall cleaning efficiency and effectiveness.
